The C-TPAT (Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) is an initiative between the United States government and the private initiative in order to guarantee security in the different areas of the supply chain and protect it against terrorism. The C-TPAT initiative emerged in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks in New York as an effort by the US government to increase border security.
